Ready to Roll

Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

LAST OF PAHRUMP NEVADA BEFORE MOVING ON

Saturday and Sunday were spent packing away, preparing to move on into Utah. We were not going to leave until Tuesday. But winds were forecast to begin there about 5 pm on Monday, so we decided to get out of dodge a day earlier.
One last trip to Bookworm Haven

Gary was able to find authors that he could not
find elsewhere, certainly not at yard sales.

I only shopped from the 50 cent table in the back.
There are rooms that you can not see from these pictures..

We stopped at a few yard sales, but only bought something at a permanent sale.  Rick, you know what I mean.  I found an excellent pair of little very pointed scissors for scrapbooking.  He wanted $3 but I offered $2 and Gary even paid for them!!
We went back to the Pahrump Historical Museum to listen to historian, author and lecturer, Stan Paher.
He was telling of his latest book's contents about the history of Nevada.  It is his 16th and to be his last coffee table size book.  He was so knowledgeable and must have began his studies as a teenager. He grew up in Las Vegas and his parents owned a Motor Court which is still in existence though not in very good condition.
While there we got to take a picture that we missed the first trip there.
House moved here, which was made from
untreated railroad ties.

Picture taken of the campground from our front window.

Neighbor's fifth wheel, toy hauler
looking from our door.

Laundry right across from the front of
the motorhome. So handy!

Neighbor who pulled in a week after
we got there.  We thought he was
going to take the side of our slide.
But guess he knew what he was doing.
Gary did move our car over further
in case he left before we did.

All ready to go Monday morning!!  We sure will not miss the white dust here!!  Gary was having a lot of problems with it!
We hear that your weather is getting better.  The spring rains should end soon, then you will complain about the heat, I'll bet.
Take care and God Bless.
