Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

Friends from SALEM visit us in FLORIDA

We had hoped to have visits with several friends from Salem and Canada who are now along the Gulf Coast, but many have had flu to deal with. Thus we have stayed home more than we had intended. However, last Thursday we went to Bartow, FL to visit with friends, Diane and Bob, from Salem for a second visit since we have been here. We had a wonderful visit and had beautiful weather for the trip. I did remember to take pictures of the back patio and flower gardens with Diane's Gnomes which I forgot to take on the last visit. It is such a pretty and restful setting. Bob has turned his storage shed into a very handy (and neat) work room. He loves it and spends a lot of time there. However, Bob has decided to return to the north even though winter really is not over. So he will fly out on the tenth. Diane is not ready to make this change and suffer from the breathing difficulties that she has while in the north. So her girls will fly south later in the spring and drive back with her. We will probably not see you again until we are all in Ohio for the summer. Take care. I wanted to let the rest of you know that you will not be hearing from us by Blog for at least three weeks, as the plans are now. I will be flying north on Monday and Gary will be staying here with the motorhome while I check in on my brother to see how he is doing, to see if I can do anything for him. I will appreciate your prayers during this time. Keep checking in. The best to you all until I am back on the computer again!
