Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

Activities continue in OHIO, with a Short Trip South !!

Circumstances changing made things so that Grandpa could take our grandson on their annual pilgrimage to the Canfield fair. They had fun and enjoyed the day! But since grandpa does not do rides our grandson had to con some aunts and another grandma into taking him again the next day. He is too big for the smaller rides and too small for the big rides alone. They even checked out the art work while there. Labor Day weekend was the weekend for the fourth annual Gospel Fest at Seven Springs near Guilford Lake south of Salem OH. This was our first year attending and it was very inspirational. I would go again and it is such a beautiful setting atop the hills there. Such a perfect view and Seven Springs lake with all of the ducks as part of that view Our First Friends Church Praise Team with our two pastors opened the service that we attended. That was followed with the Hemphills from Nahville and Kevin Spencer & Friends , Will Shaw , and our local Victoria Nichols . I am not sure where Victoria is from but she has sung at our church a few times and I feel we are blessed. She sure has a beautiful voice!! Rev Larry Orrell had the message for us. Would I go back again? Yes indead!! We are now on the road to take the motorhome south to my brothers for safe keeping as the weather turns cold. We are just leaving a rest area sandwiched in between the 18 wheelers headed south on Rt 77. We have found a little place to stay in Ohio for our duration there until the doctor gives me the go ahead to travel. We figure we will be there until the end of the year probably. Our sons and grandson will be glad for the usual holiday dinners!! None of this togetherness by SKYPE this year! I will try to keep you posted as we spend our time in Ohio! I also plan to get a lot of scrap booking done! Keep us in your prayers and we will see you when we get back to traveling!
