Ready to Roll

Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

MORE WITH FRIENDS, TIM AND JUDY - - -

The LIBERTY MINISTRIES, QUARTET
had one of their tour concerts cancelled so they called their friend/former member of the quartet, Doug, here at SunLife and asked if they could be used here. To our GREAT pleasure they cancelled movie night and invited them to come.

It was a full house and so inspiring to all. We felt the acceptance from the large majority and were so intrigued that they not only sang spiritual songs and patriotic songs, but they had a great comedy line and great testimony messages.
Their newest member who joined
them after nine years in the Army,
which included seven tours in
Afghanistan.

During his sharing antidote about his son,
they showed this picture!! I'll bet there is
never a dull moment in his house!
We were amazed that one could do so many tours in such a country, but to also be able to return and continue his life in this manner.  I am sure that his relationship with the Lord is what kept it together for him. I would imagine that it would also depend on what his duties were while there.
First Tenor

First Tenor, also playing Trumpet.
Awesome bass singer.
They also had Doug and Marilyn from here in the park sing a couple numbers with them.
After we got home, I went back to the hall with my credit card to get their special on CDs. While there, I found out that they will be performing at a Baptist church in Apache Junction on this coming Thursday. So we plan to attend that as well.  I asked if they tour in the east, but was disappointed to hear that they do not. They hail from Idaho.
While sharing pictures, I will throw in a couple of the Lundeen's home in Oregon. Tim and one of his son's are quite talented woodworkers also!! We met them in a Baptist church near their home in 2011, then connected with them twice now in Arizona and also in N Carolina with their other friends. We found that we had so much in common and enjoy our visits very much.  I shared those other visits in Blogs written in the years of those visits. You may remember the chairs that he made from tree trunks. They were awesome!!  Judy says, "Not when you stub a toe on one!"

I think they get snow there occasionally also.
Next will be our tour out east of Mesa, including the Indian dwellings built into the mountains. Check back.
