Ready to Roll

Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

Checked out a SKP CO-OP RESORT

Yesterday on our way to Bisbee AZ, we drove through this resort on impulse. This is a co-op which is what we are on a waiting list for in Florida. However, they are quite different. After driving through and talking to one of their residents, we decided that it is probably more costly than Florida.  But it was unique and we enjoyed looking it over.
The lady who we talked with told us that the extra building on the lots can be anything from storage to what they call a Casita, which is a family/Arizona room with bathroom, laundry room and/or storage. You can design it anyway you like.  When I worked in the construction office in Mesa a few years back, I saw the prices of some of the rooms that they attached to a park model.  Yikes!!
Anyway some of these were plain and then some were quite awesome!
I loved the balcony on this one.
Can you imagine the view of sunrises and sunsets from this?

We liked the additional storage built under this
Fifth Wheel.  Not sure how they pulled out to go
anywhere else.

Loved the southwest motif.

Loved this ornamental flower bed - but it does not belong
to this trailer, but to the resident on the right of this.

You can  build 288 sq feet with an additional
8 ft by 24 ft patio. The lot is leased.

This would be a wonderful addition for such a small
camper. However, the rules are that you must live in the camper, etc.
You can use the extra space for stretch-out daytime living only.

Gary loved the train track setting here!!
I did not take pictures of the office and the activity center, but they were quite nice.  It was a good tour even though out of our price range!! The lots are considered leased.  Hope that you enjoyed it.
