Ready to Roll

Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

MEETING UP WITH FLORIDA RVing FRIENDS in INDIANA

Good morning!
Have been visiting since arriving here. Wednesday, September 23rd.
On Thursday we drove over to Marion to connect with RVing friends, Katherine and Ted, who we met in Bushnell, FL in our early full timing days the first year out. They are no longer driving the motorhome that long a distance because of Ted's health.
It was a wonderful four hour visit catching up on people and common interests. Katherine wanted us to stay for dinner, but we knew that my sister would be cooking also. Thank you Katherine for the invite.
Katherine fixing tea.
What an awesome kitchen, but I am spoiled.
I would hate to have to keep it clean!

Ted and Gary catching up.

Saying goodbye for this visit.
We will return.

They have such a lovely country home and grounds.  I just had to take pictures of a few cute things about.
A little girl that I would love to have a place for!

This plant all around in front of the little girl was sure unique!! I forget what Katherine said it was called.

Katherine mowed under this tree many times before she noticed the hornet's nest. She laughs about it now.

Ted and Katherine, thank you for a wonderful time and so glad that we could make your day.  I would imagine that it is difficult to leave a lifestyle behind. I will pass your greetings on to the others that we lived by in Bushnell.  We will be seeing Louis and Don in Ohio when we get there.
Take care and God Bless.
