Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

LIVE NATIVITY at Foothills Baptist Church

LIVE NATVITY at Foothills Baptist Church in Apache Junction, Arizona where we went to see a Live Nativity. We were in awe of the type of setting and portrayal that they presented!! Each scene was in a separate canopy booth. My photos aren't the best, but it may have been partly the lighting and the fact that I did not want to use flash. I did miss getting a picture of the Roman soldier and also the booth of the woman baking bread and passing it out to us as we walked through. Money changers and woman making pottery Matthew, tax collector
Woman making baskets
Women at the well
Men in the street Woman weaving
Woman selling lamp oil
Zechariah in the temple. Elizabeth was in this booth also.
Gentleman carving
A full room in the Inn
Innkeeper at a feast telling about how there was no room at the Inn, and how he had to send one couple to the stable (which was outside a door nearby).
Women sitting near the feast table
Stable scene pictures.
Woman telling the story of Christ born to go to the cross for our sins!
Scriptures posted along the walkway leading back to the front of the church, to the refreshments.
Arizona setting for the new addition being built on to the church.
Refreshments, cookies, coffee and hot chocolate.
Really it all ended too soon!! It was an outstanding story portrayal!!
Our Christmas seems more real, even without the snow!! Afterall, was there snow in Bethlehem?
