Ready to Roll

Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

BRYCE THOMPSON ARBORETUM near GLOBE ARIZONA

YIPPEE !!  Today, I have added Photos to September 9th and September 26th Blogs. They are not good quality, but will retain the memories!!I have now put the problem to rest!!  And just in time to have my hardback book of the 2014 Blogs printed up.
Looking forward, I just have to learn how to use the Picasa Program!!  It is not as easy to work with as Creative Memories was.  I am thinking about un-installing CM from our old computer and re-installing it to use from now forward.  If it then works without any error messages, I will be happy. Only problem there, the old computer is way too slow!!  If it is not one problem, it is another.
I really have been bogged down with this and it has been so depressing.  If it wasn't for our activities here in the Resort and our few sight seeing days, I would really be down!!

Holidays were fun, but time to move on.  We missed the family, but kept up with phone, and Victor will be arriving January 24th.  We are looking forward to that!!

Our first sight seeing day in the new year was a trip out east of Mesa to the Sonoran Desert to see the Copper Mine that has a visitor viewing area. On the way we stopped at Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park (Cacti and Desert) 392 acres.  Not too much to tell except it was beautiful and very interesting. We walked the mile and a half main trail, and were amazed when looking back on it to realize how much of a gradual climb it was. So will show you some of the pictures that we took. Hope that you enjoy them as much as we did.

From our hike we went for lunch at Los Hermanos in Globe when we happened across this car.  Tim and Judy we thought you would enjoy it!!  We think of you often and wonder what you are up to.

I will write a separate Blog with the Copper Mine Pictures.  So stay tuned I am on a roll now!!
