Ready to Roll

Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

MESA REGAL'S ARTISAN SHOW

Gary has had some very talented people from Mesa Regal in his art classes. He took great pride in showing their works at Mesa Regal's Artisan Festival. There are so many - many types of art and hobby groups here in the park, that if you have several interests, it is difficult to find time to join all of the groups that you want.
Because of this talent, Gary wanted to show you all of the works that were shown at his tables. Please enjoy!!
It is with great pleasure that he was able to work with seven junior high students from Sunshine Acres, a children's home and school in the area. They do such wonderful things for those children, in addition to providing them with a very loving Christian environment. There is house parents, a couple in each home of ten children. We are sad that they will not be close enough for us while we are in the east, that Gary could continue to volunteer teaching art there.
Enjoy their work!! They were so appreciative of the class and you can see that there is some promising talent here also.
In the adults work here in the park, some are also painting on ceramics. Can you pick those out?
The texture in the coloring on this Indian girl, made her face and hair seem so real!!
Yes, this is the ceramic display!!
Of course, Gary always enjoys the wood working. So he did take a couple pictures there also.
We hope that you can see what he enjoyed about this season here at Mesa Regal. They all want to know if he will be back. But we can not answer that for sure. So many of our plans have been written in jello for the last three years.
Check in with us again real soon.
