Our History

Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

A DAY FROM BUSHNELL, FLORIDA

We were gearing up for a trip farther south in Florida and looking forward to visits with friends and relatives. In the mean time, we kept busy with mundane things at home. I spent the Saturday before we left sewing and hanging curtains to dress up the motorhome a little. And Gary left and went to the Wood Carvers Show and luncheon here at the Oaks RV Resort. He did not get involved in the woodcarving while here, but was anxious to see what they have done. He got to see the works of a neighbor on one side of us, Bob , as well as the works of Joe in the motorhome on the other side of us. From the looks of the displays, there must be quite a few very talented people here in the two parks. From the Wood Carvers Show, Gary went on to Webster to an Antique Car Show . He always enjoys them. But it did not seem that he was gone long as he got back before I was finished with my project. But I soon wrapped up my project and then did a load of laundry and packed up for our trip south! And Gary had to bring STUFF in out of the car to be out of our way for the trip. Yes, we have so much stuff that we store some of it in the car rather than the motorhome! The main thing is the canopy that Gary would use if he showed his art at a show. It is difficult to plan on this because most shows are juried and must be scheduled too far in advance for us. May be some day. Talk with you again after we get back!
