Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

HAPPY NEW YEAR from GEORGIA !!

Happy New Year Everyone !
We got to do something different for New Year's Day and had a wonderful time! We drove three hours away from Brunswick, Georgia and met with our Ohio friends, Bob, Eugenia and Kevin and ate at Sonny's BBQ and visited. Then later in the day we picked up their four grand kids ranging in age from two and a half to eleven and went bowling and to Burger King afterwards. So I thought I would share some pictures of our bowling. Enjoy!
After getting a lane assigned to us and shoes for all of our bowlers (after several changes), we noticed one of our young bowlers had captured the attention of a little girl on a neighboring team! Not to be outdone, his little brother captured the seat beside her. Look out little bro!
Then the evening was off to a flying start .Way to go Bob!
Now it is time for someone to try filling Kevin's size 14 shoes ?? I think it will be many years before the rest of this bowling team can even dream of filling them!
By having a separate lounging space between turns, it was much easier to keep the littlest ones corralled. And it gave me time to keep up with the picture taking . It was very difficult to get good pictures because of the competition with the light from the TV screens over the bowling lanes. But on the other hand, Kevin said that was the only football game that he got to watch! Poor boy!
Then big brother shows his form and bowled very well! He must have had a good teacher sometime in his past. Keep up the good work!
After watching big brother , this young one took his turn and also did a good job with a split.
Okay Gary , let's see if you can keep up with the young ones??
Now it is time to be shown up by the female side of the team! Do your stuff girl - - and get that split. Show them how it is done!
And not to be out done, the smallest team member gets his instruction from the best, his pa-pa, Bob. "Now little one you can't keep watching your audience! That's right, pick up the ball then swing and roll it !" A little more training and look out Big People! What a wonderful time with grandma and pa! Made us realize we have it really easy with just one grandchild. Plenty of one on one. But then we had five adults to four. Guess that adds up the same!
We finished the day filling their tummys and hopes to see them all again sometime! Take care and God Bless.
