Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

MORE SUMMER in OHIO 2022

This is the second part to our summer Blogs.  It did work better cutting it into smaller sections!!  Our summer is usually spent going to doctors, dentist and sometimes eye doctor in addition to visiting with family and friends.  It quite often ends all too soon, but the weather causes that!

Gary got in more activities than I did, but that is good as he tries to keep as active with his art in Ohio as he does in Florida.

Gary and Rick checking out his Art
Display at Medichi Art Museum in
Howland, Ohio
He also displayed one of his drawings at the Merritt Gallery in New Brighton, PA .  They only chose one of his drawings for entry which was the usual for that show.

Gary did get to at least one Classic Car Show.   He usually gets to more, but not this past summer.

Gary also got to go to the Men of Faith meetings in Columbiana and in Warren.  I imagine that they felt a major loss in Columbiana after loosing Bing Newton to cancer this early summer.

Audrey's Class,  we did get to their Class Luncheon in early summer.
Pat and Dave Edling at the Lunch at Adele's

Chuck Greenfield, Carol Greenfield
and Jim Gibbs at Lunch

Jim Gibb,  with  Cheryl and Clyde Shoff at Lunch

I can't see everyone, so will only share names of
those I can see.  Mary Lou (Weingart ?) Joe Kozar,
Peg Panezott, Marge Thorne, Peg Edling

Then the Sixtieth Reunion for Salem High Class of 1962 was this summer at the Italian Club at a later date.  It was a great visit with all.  Gary has many friends in that class as well as his graduating class which will be next year's reunion.

Audrey, Karen Feiler and
Jim Peters.  Jim was a Scout leader
when our boys were in Scouts.
Bud Herron,  was also our family
eye doctor. Boys do you remember him?

Gretchen with her five children was Audrey's
classmate.  She did not attend the Reunion though.

Gretchen, I did miss you there!!  So glad to take a photo of this family picture that I saw in your apartment.  I was so glad that we got to visit you in your new location!!  We will stop to see you again next summer when we get north!!  It was also very good to re-acquaint with your oldest son, William.  Hope our youngest son, Ben, remembers those game nights with your youngest son, Kurt, at your home in Lisbon back in those days.
I am going to end this Blog and begin another to be sure not to loose anything!!  Take care and keep looking for more.
