Ready to Roll

Our History

Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

MARCH IN FLORIDA HAS COME TO AN END - NOW LESS THAN A MONTH TO GO.

Yes, March has come to an end!  But we will be here in Florida for another 22 days as plans are now.

Since our last episode of Covid here in the park, we have not been out to do much.  Laundry and grocery shopping along with Gary's Art work in Sebring and my TOPS meetings along with our usual church are the extent of our activities.  So I'll show you what little in pictures that I have to show for our time here in the park.

The spring time cloud cover is quite interesting and beautiful!!

The weather has been nice enough for joy riding on the motorcycles.  We do have quite a few in the park who have them.

Here are five going out at one time,
headed left/north from the park.
Evening before last we invited three other couples to join us for dinner outside of our motorhome.  We chose to eat on what we consider the back side of our home as we do very little from that direction.  Our choice was made because of such bright sun hitting us on the other side.  The brisk wind was not much of a detterent!!

Lots of great conversation!!

I'm sure these guys would say "the better haves"
Bud, Skip, Gary's empty chair, and Robert.
I am thinking that Gary was off for more food!

It was an evening of good food and great fellowship.  We've decided that we should do it more often! But doubt that we will do it any more this season as we all have our leaving committments.  It has been a wonderful season in spite of the freesing weather at times!

Hope that your weather up north is gradually improving!!  We did have breakfast with a couple of our NEO Ohio friends.  We drove over to Avon Park where they are staying, to meet them at the Avon Park Diner.  There again, much good fellowship!!

Take care and we'll see you soon!!
