Ready to Roll

Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

BORING IN OHIO, AS IN FLORIDA except FATHER'S DAY

I dread to think that we will go through this pandemic again in the fall when flu season arrives!!  We are such a culture that we think that we must be on the go most of the time. However, we will need to revamp those thoughts!!
View of our site as we are coming into our summer park.
A new site for us and a bit rough ground.
View from the motorhome, looking back where we came from.
Once Gary got wood from Rich and leveled our entry
area, it was not so bad.
Wednesday, June 24th, Gary is outside washing down the motorhome.  I am sure that he will be exhausted when he quits for the day!!
Father's Day, June 21st,  we spent the afternoon at Rich and Lynn's.
Doug and Miranda cooked the dogs and burgers for us.  Thank you!!!

Richie's fiance, Savannah,  invited her father with his family to come for the afternoon also.

and the rest of their family.
The kids enjoyed the swimming pool and the remote cars!!

Richard sure has worked hard to get the pool emptied and reset on solid ground with a concrete base under the posts after the winter's effect on it.  He sure is a work-a-holic!!  He fed the goats and chickens while we were there as he knew time would pass quickly before it was time to head for work.  He and Richie are working nights there!

Except for a few sprinkles, it was a beautiful day!!  The clouds rolled on through!!
Hope that you are having a good summer!!  Stay safe and healthy.
