Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

Another Week With The Wyatts In FLORIDA

We began the week with some sunshine so decided to get out as much as we could!! We are enjoying shorts and t-shirt weather most of the days. Tuesday evening we went to our campground's Boots Hall entertainment center to see Bugs and Debbie Green. They were from Newfoundland and humorous and very entertaining. Bugs played five different instruments and sang in addition to his humor. Debbie sang and played the spoons!! They both went in to the audience quite often to get their participation. The ladies were eager to try the spoons and even went up on the stage!!
When the sun came out on Wednesday we were on our way to Port Richey to go to lunch with Lise and Serge, friends from Quebec , who we met at 1000 Islands in New York in 2008. We tried to see them last year when we were here in Florida, but they had the flu and then I went north to be with my brother. So better late than never!! After arriving forty five minutes late from looking for their street, we finally went to lunch at Cracker Barrel and had a delicious chicken pot pie. Yum-m-m. We went back to their park to visit longer and some other Quebec friends of theirs stopped by also .
While stuck in the rain some this week, I spend a lot of time on the computer using e-mail and reading. But did squeeze some scrap booking time into the schedule. As you can see, I am only up to 1985 . So I have a lot of scrap booking to do. I need a group to keep me at it like I had in Salem!!
Then today we decided to beat the rain that has since begun, and head southeast to Brooksville for the Family Motor Coach Rally to check out the commercial stuff. We forgot to take pictures of the 2010 Gulfstream and 2010 Georgtown that we liked so well. So we will show you the brochure of the Georgetown that we picked up. . The extra slide out in the living area sure makes a difference. The door is midway back in the right side wall. We are getting so slack at taking pictures.
It is enough to make you drool!! And then we come home and decide that ours is kind of drab. So not sure that it is worth the time spent looking them over. But then maybe it is just all of our STUFF that makes ours look drab!! But wanted to show them to you so you could drool also!!
Tomorrow or Sunday we are hoping to go to Mt. Dora again this year for their Annual Art Festival. It is the best one that I have ever attended, so well worth visiting again. I will see if I can get into trouble taking pictures again this year like I did last year. One of the art pieces that I photographed even had a no camera sign on it. And I did not see it!! Really I didn't, as I was in too big a hurry to get the picture and be out of everyone's way. I do know that some artists are touchy about having their stuff photographed in case it would be copied. As if I could copy such talent!!!!!!!!!!!!
So follow along and see what we find to do next week.
Also take a look at this butane cook stove and see if you can tell us where we can buy them.
It operates with a small butane tank that has a very minimal cost. Keep your eyes open and if you see them, let us know.
Take care and God Bless!!
