Ready to Roll

Our History

Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

Plans Written In JELLO Are Changing In OHIO !

Nothing is ever written in stone as God is in control! Thank God that I did not follow the urge to ignore and put off the routine physical exams and xrays. Because I followed through, all has been caught in good time and treatment should be very successful! I will be seeing a specialist in Cleveland on Thursday and we will know more after that. At this point my regular doctor said that all that should be needed is surgery and six weeks of radiation. I have noninvasive ductal carsinoma in situ, meaning that it has been caught early and is in it's original location. I am very thankful and praise God for blessings both big and small!! He will help us work through it all!! We will need to be taking the motorhome south for safe keeping in cold weather. Then we will stay with our son in this area while keeping up with the doctor's requests. We are so fortunate to be able to handle this in our home area to be with and around family. Of course, had we become aware while in other parts of the country there are airplanes to bring us back to the area. And most RV Parks usually have a storage area where you can leave the motorhome. But I have a brother who will babysit ours. This is good so that it gets started up and run occassionally until we also get back south for the worst of the winter, hopefully. This is the plan now, unless God has other plans for us. And please pray for us, the doctors, and our children and grandchildren. I am sure that it is more of a concern for all around us. I feel very optimistic about it all. It could be so much worse. I will keep you posted and will do the Blog as often as I can.
