Ready to Roll

Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

DENVER COLORADO BUS TOUR

Monday the 13th began with our trip to the Post Office to set up one mail delivery until our next prolonged stop.  We found a silver diner nearby so had to stop in for breakfast where I did a no-no!! And we wrapped ourselves around the whole thing.

After driving into Denver to Cherry Creek Mall to meet up with the Tour.  We went early enough to walk the Mall and get some exercise before sitting on the bus the rest of the day.
Our tour guide, Vern, was very interesting.

First stop on the tour.

Second stop on the tour.

The history, of course, was well done by this guide.
Jewish Hospital

One of two studios where Perry Mason
films were produced.

State Capitol building,
another stop on the tour.

Another stop on the tour was this at the Sports Authority Field
which is mile high (elevation).

Where the two rivers meet, each flowing opposite
directions.

This station had 63 freight trains through per day
in it's hay day.

I always think that these corner buildings
are interesting.

Part of a very large Art Center.

Federal Building.
We were whipped when arriving back at the Mall at 6pm.  And we still had an hour to drive to the campground.  Fortunate for us the traffic was not too bad this time.
Today we will be going to Colorado Springs to see some friends from Ohio and maybe see the Garden of the Gods (which I think is a spill-over from Utah.
Time to go.  Stay tuned.  Have a great day.
