Ready to Roll

Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

OUR NIGHT OUT for DINNER and MUSIC!!

Night out to Demetri's Restaurant for dinner and later to South Florida State College for a musical program.  Thank you Lanette and Kenny for the tickets to the Program.

Saturday, November 6th,  was our night out with friends from our SKP Resort.  Gary had to work an Art Show in downtown Sebring, Florida and could not be back in time to pick me up at the park.  So Skip gave me a ride along to the restaurant where we found Gary.  After a good healthy dinner, we left for the college Wildstein Center for the Performing Arts to see the Latin musical group from Tampa.

La Orquesta Caribeno Tropicale:

The audience began to participate in
the isles.  Eventually they asked a couple
people from the audience to come onto
the stage to dance.

I loved the music played on the can (?)
by the gentleman on your left.
He was good!!

Actually some from the audiance were quite good.

The lady on the right was quite good,
with the words as well.

They were very interested to introduce
the young fellow who was really into
the dance as well as the singing!!

Then we became aware of some others
from our home park dancing as well.

Yes, Judy we see you.  Keep enjoying!!
I wish I had taken my camera with me.  It would have done much better with the zoom than my phone.  Next time I will be better prepared!!
I dreaded the drive back to the park in the dark, but turns out that road is quite well marked. Visibility was quite good!!  So we need to get tickets for a couple more of the shows this season.
Take care and keep busy.
Gary went to his Art Workshop this morning while I slept in.  I am getting ready to fix spaghetti and meatballs for our noon meal.  We do not do well with this kind of a meal in the evening.  Gary doesn't sleep well on that. So we'd rather do that at noon.
Not sure what we will do for the rest of the day, but I'm sure we will find something!!
