Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

THANKSGVING WEEK with VICTOR VISITING US in FLORIDA

We are ending November today!!  Time is flying, but Thanksgiving and our son, Victor visiting us for a week sure hurried it along!!

We took Victor down near Port Charlotte to visit cousins one day and then went over near Sebring, Florida to see Hammond State Park another day.  Other then that he got to vegitate as he wished.  Certainly a vacation!!

Thanksgiving crew in the kitchen,
taking care of the turkey, stuffing,
mashed potatos and gravy.

Victor and Audrey waiting for dinner!

Bud and Marsha, our table companions.

Gary went around the Club House
taking pictures of other residents
of our park.

The residents in the Park brought carry-in dishes to share to round out the dinner.  Needless to say we were stuffed when we left the Club House.

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving we took Victor down near Port Charlotte to visit cousins and then went over near Sebring, Florida to see Highland Hammock State Park the Friday before he left us.  Other than that he got to vegitate as he wished.  Certainly a vacation except the four days of driving to get here and back

Vic's cousin, Tina,
and her daughter, Becky,
and grand daughter, Kaelyn

Tina's other daughter, Amanda
with another of Tina's grand daughters, Lydia,
and an adopted grandson, Michaes from Ethiopia.
Victor is taking it all in.

Michaes was proudly showing his wood carving that he is doing at school.  It was beautiful!!

One of Kaelyn's paintings:

Kaelyn is also a book illustrator for a couple of children book authors. It looks like she has a bright future ahead of her!!   We are proud of them.

Our tour of Highland Hammock State Park  included the CCC Museum and a Tram ride and narration through the Park.  Very Interesting wild life and plant life!!  The tour guide was very knowledgable.

Victor watching birds and trees.

Gary, his view will be where he's been!!

Victor using his many
camera lenses.
Narrator explaining the life of
the tree, and how it was filled
with concrete later and continued
to grow.
Blue Heron
The shade from the trees sure did not
enhance my pictures!!

Alligatoe and turtles
sharing space!!

Turtle

Alligator headed back into the water.

Hard to see, but a bird with
black and white wings.  Our tour guide
had names for them all, but I had no
place to write them down!!

Turtles sliding off of log into the water.

Vic taking pictures of
the plants living on the
trunks of the trees.
Again I can not
remember names he gave.

I'm having a terrible time lining the next pictures up across the page.  I think that I need a class
on the new changes to Blogger!!!   Gr-r-r-r!!

Table saw with a
treadle pedal.

Victor leaving for Ohio!!  Boo-hoo for us!!
