Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

BURNS STATE PARK in NORTH LITTLE ROCK on JULY 4th

We began Thursday with doing laundry, prepare food for the next day, and resting.  Have to get some energy to keep up with these youngsters.  Hahaha

Friday has arrived and now on to Andrew's with food for our indoor picnic dinner.   Yum-yum!!  Then off to Burns Park. I think that the brochure said there are six playground areas, but we only visited part of them.  One was a train box car and another an army tank.  Then a red-white-blue spaceship play gym, but then on again to a younger set of kid's swings and a merry-go-round.
Yes, that is Andrew, but he used the steps!!

Cole, far left and Olivia, far right.

Now back to our Riverfront RV park along the Arkansas River.  When Andrew and his "crew" arrived we watched the fireworks on the lawn along the river and ate popcorn.

Clinton Pedestrian Bridge between N Little Rock and
Little Rock and the Clinton Museum there.
This is our view from our large side window on left of the MH.

The fireworks are down river to the our right, probably about one to two miles away.
Fireworks beyond the I-30 bridge.
We assume that they were set off from a river barge.
Imagine the view that the traffic have as they cross the bridge.

Olivia, with an itchy nose?

Of course, the kids thought it was over too soon, but they were certainly ready for bed.  No plans for tomorrow.  So we will see them again on Sunday at church and for dinner.
Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend.  One of our son's worked hard on his kitchen remodeling and another one relocated for Best Buy work in Morgantown WV.
We are looking forward to vacation at Outer Banks with family in August.  Time will be here before we realize it!!
