Ready to Roll

Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

MORE SUMMER ACTIVITES - -

Gary has been cleaning out notebooks, etc. So guess we will have a fire some day soon!  It gives him more space in his art area in the back of the motorhome!  Keep going Gary!!  Just leave my scrapbooking stuff alone!!

This past Friday, August 13th, I went to scrapbook with three friends, Leah, Eugenia and Betty at Leah's home south of Lisbon.  Surprising, in spite of all of the talking and going out to lunch at Pondi's, I did get quite a bit done.  I went prepared with printed journaling to add to my pages.  And Pondi's fried fish sandwich dinners were delicious!  Plenty of left over for Gary.

Leah made us cupcakes to
celebrate two August birthdays.
I won't tell you the numbers!!
Saturday, August 14th, Gary had volunteered to show some of his colored pencil drawings at the Salem Historical Museum.

Another young fellow, Ryan Boyce, showed his photography art also.  He is quite good!!  His display was very interesting and he discussed it in detail!!  You can see that Dave Stratton is interested.
His train photo on the wall to your right,
was a fast moving train, with cars parked off in the
back ground wooded area in front of the train.
He removed the cars from the scene.
And you could see small parts of the train
in spite of the speed.

A better view of the train!!
The entire table and above it, is Ryan's display.

Gary's art is the bottom row on the tables.
Some of Gary's '63 class friends,
Jean, Maria and Connie,
visiting also.

Audrey's class of '62 held a luncheon at Boar's Cafe' on Salem's south side bypass, Thursday, July 22nd. An enjoyable time, but needed more attending!!

I did not know of this cafe', not sure how long it has been there.  But they did have good food!!
Both of our classes have lunch out, usually every month. It is good to keep in touch with people. Keeps us feeling younger!!
Have a great day!!
