Ready to Roll

Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

HOOP DEE DOO REVUE (variety show) at CHURCH and other ACTIVITIES!!

This year we were able to attend the annual Hoop Dee Doo Revue at church.  What a blessing with some great singing, narration, children presentation and great food!! I'll share a few pictures from the event so you can see the relaxed atmosphere!  There was a silent auction for baked goods and the funds raised for missions such as Operation Christmas Child were very good!!

Skip from our resort attended and enjoyed!

Our cookie baker from our park!

Susan and Janet from our park.

Another Susan and her husband Bruce
from our park.

George and Lillian from our park.

Wilbur from our SS Class
was master of ceremonies.

The children began the program.

Oh,oh someone is not happy!

It was almost dark before the grand finale'.

Wilbur's wife, Susan sang 'God Bless America'
for the finale'.

Wilbur shared many humorous stories from the community and from church bulletins.  Though the bulletins might have been read with some reading out of context.
When the children were through with their portion of the program, they had no problem finding sand to play in.  A great time was had by all.  We will be sure to attend again next year!!
Our Resort continues to have some food functions out doors and we get to have some good visit time!!  Gary attends the men's coffee time three mornings a week.  And the Annual Board and Committee meetings have been taking place.  Gary is working on the Grievance committee and I am still on the Library committee and Auditing committee.  That should keep us more than busy for the next year.
We have a Yankee gift Swap coming up here at the park which I must find something to wrap and give away.  Gary will give one of his drawings. It is known as a Wrap, Share and Steal!!  It was loads of fun last year and we expect more of the same this year.
The SKPettes from the park have kept up with the monthly lunch out in local restaurants. Always good food, and great visiting!!

Don't want to miss view of anyone!

Not as many attending as did last year, but that is expected with the Covid concern and because the Canadians were not able to return because of their insurance restrictions because of Covid.  I sure hope that this is a thing of past by next season, but really doubt it.
Gary did attend an art showing with the Highland Art League in Sebring that he is a member of.  He volunteers there as well as in Arcadia, FL.  Gary spent some time in our shed to build his display.

We hope that you are all staying healthy!!  Take care!!
