Sunday, June 2nd, we attended a graveside service for a friend, Elayne, who babysat with our boys when they were very young. She had spent recent years in Virginia near her daughter, Trina and family. We had visited her there about six years ago on our way through there (hard to believe that long ago). Her daughter then brought her back here to be buried next to her husband in Salem. Reminiscing was good.
On Tuesday we attended the Circle of Friends lunch at First Friends Church. It was great sitting at the table with friends Jeanne and Wayne, and catching up with them about their boys and they shared about other friends, Rollie and Jeannette. There was a lot of fun among the group.

Gary went to First Tuesday in Boardman with former work friends retired from other companies where Gary had worked in years past. He always enjoys the guys!!
Then Audrey's great nephew got married at his parents home in Perry, Ohio It was an awesome setting and Conner and Hannah made a lovely couple!! It was the first wedding that we had been to that had such a fancy portable air-conditioned lavatory, and the main course of the meal was served by order from a catering truck. But I sure would do that if I had to plan a wedding again!!
They also had an extensive Fruit and Salad and Beverage Table to enjoy while pictures were being taken.
After the ceremony, we each carried our chair into the dining tent, and the garage door opened to make their bar available. It was a nice set-up and a lovely ceremony. |

Attendant, Conner's sister, Ragan. Her husband, Jeff, was also in the wedding party. |
It was a lovely day, weather wise. We had a very gentle breeze and enjoyed visiting with many. Of course, there were many who we did not know, especially Hannah's family from Texas and school friends from Massachusetts.
After pictures were taken and refreshments enjoyed, the band began with the bride and groom's dances.

Conner's uncle, Scott with his daughter, Emily. So glad that we got to sit with them to visit. |
Richard and Lynn have been so busy that we have not visited with them much, though they are here in Ohio. They are having their twenty-first wedding anniversary this week so we postponed Father's Day family picnic for a week. In the mean time they have been catching up with much work around their little farm setting.
Much fencing and barn stalls have been installed, and Lynn has been planting strawberry plants to be ready for next year.
Lynn, where are your helpers? |
Take care and enjoy your summer. We will keep you informed as we continue through the summer.
