Ready to Roll

Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

MOVING A FEW MILES NORTH ON WEDNESDAY

Hope all of you mothers had a wonderful Mother's Day celebration!!
I had a good day but it would have been much better being with the boys!!
But guys, Dad did take me out for dinner after church.  We drove in to St. George and ate Italian. Yum!
We enjoyed the drive as always.  I have wanted to take a picture of this huge rock ever since we got here, but we are always past it too fast. I was ready and waiting this time.

We also took a drive on a road that we had not been on before.  Gary has been wanting to see what was up there on the north side of Hurricane.  We ended up in a housing development with it's own golf course and a wonderful view!  I would imagine that the homes began at 250K and UP.  I'll bet that we could not even afford the empty lots!  Many of the homes looked out on the mountains and down on the golf course with a small lake and fountain!

Last chance to take a picture of the First Southern Baptist where we attended.  Just getting to remember names and then we move on.

We look forward to getting back into this area again in the future.  It is such beautiful country!
Take care and I'll write again after we get moved.
Our Ohio friends, Bill and Esther were in Illinois today, so should make it home tomorrow.  Long drive from California and two more flat tires later on the fifth wheel.  Drive safe!
