Our History

Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

ANOTHER WEEK in OHIO

Not too much going on now,  but we did take a Sunday afternoon and went to New Brighton PA to pick up Gary's art, then Gary spent a morning at the condo to get it put away in the closet.  This Sunday afternoon, August 23rd,  we have to go back over to the gallery for the Master's show which Gary has one drawing in.  They will be giving the awards for that show. So that is a day OUT for us!!

When in New Brighton I took some pictures of houses that have been beautifully restored!  Of course, there were more that I wasn't fast enough to get.

I just got off the phone from talking with my sister who has recently moved into assisted living.  We talked for more than a half hour and she is doing quite well.  I am so glad that she is adjusting well.  I am so thankful for her two daughters to help her with these adjustments!!  Her son was my help when we went though this with our brother a few years back.  Gary and I plan to stop through there when we go to Minnesota to visit our youngest son, Ben, in Sepember.

Last evening, August 21st we went to our middle son, Richard's for dinner and they surprised me with birthday cake and cards.  Our grandson's fiance did the baking, which she loves to do.  She also made Beignets, which was new to us!  They were delish!!

And Richard loved showing off his new work in the barn for his new animals.  They have surprised him with babies!!  The goats are being raised to sell to cover the overhead, as I understand it. And the chickens produce more than enough eggs.  There are chickens all over!!  He's built new a new coop in the barn for them.

Richard's goats have really grown!

This fellow is one of three which
Rich bought to raise to fill the
freezer.

Fun to watch them play.

While there Gary and I went for a short ride in Lynn's convertible.  What fun!!  I want one of those!!

Audrey & Gary leaving for joy ride!

While Gary and his friend, Rick are out and about checking out the antique stores, Gary keeps finding barrister bookcases for me, but not the right price range!!  I can't afford $900. to $1200. Keep on looking guys!! I do want a short one, maybe three shelves.

I sure do NOT like the changes that they made to Blogger!!!!!  It took more than two hours to write this!!  That is way too long.
Just like our Home bank computer site!  I hate change!!!
I am scrapbooking with the girls once a month and Gary goes to his First Tuesday with the guys, but that is about it for activities.  But I have updated you on what little we have done and will do so again in a couple weeks.  Check back in with us.   Stay healthy!!
