Ready to Roll

Our History

Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

BUSIEST DAY WE'VE HAD ALL MONTH !!

Wednesday, April 22nd, moving day for the park model next door.  The new owners are relieved!!  They have been anxious to go north after winter.  Now things will proceed for them.
About a month ago, beginning the preparation,
removing the Florida sun room,
The audience is in place on both sides of the park model!!  The most activity in the park in quite some time.

Several hours later, they are ready to move it through the park to it's new location!!

Clean-up still needs done.

New location on Alligator Alley.
It took another day to get is set up and
strapped down.

Like I said, the most to get excited about in a lon-n-g time!
Today, Friday, April 24th, it has been raining pretty heavy all morning.  I don't even want to go out to move things in to the shed in preparation for our move north in about three weeks.  That was the plan for my day.  Guess I will read- read- read!  Gary is at the drawing board.
I think that the forecast is three days of this.  Not that we don't need rain.  I won't have to get the watering hose out for a few days!! I wonder what will happen to my new bushes and flowers after we leave here!! I have a flower-bed behind the motorhome and shed to finish cleaning out.  Next season I will plant new bushes in there.
You all take care.  We still are not going out except to get groceries once a week. I imagine you are in that same boat!!  Last Sunday our sermon was First Friends in Salem on-line.  Not sure what we will do this Sunday.  We've done something different each week.
