Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

EAA MUSEUM in OSHKOSH, WISCONSIN

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, GARY!!  A few days late maybe, but you had your wish!!
Fifteen minutes in the air!!

We came to Oshkosh (city of round abouts!) to see the Experimental Aviation Association Museum. Gary probably knew ahead of time that they had the plane rides, but I did not until we got there. So I watched him go.  He loved it!! I was so glad that he got to do it. so he calls it his Father's Day gift.
Now that Gary is back on the ground we headed to the Museum.
The Museum has a collection of more than 200 historic airplanes, WWII aviation history up close, plus thousands of historic aviation artifacts and collections. We will show you a few pictures from in the Museum as well - -

Because of the horrible round abouts in this city of Oshkosh, we really try to stay off the most direct routes to anything and especially the accesses to the Interstates.  We just drive extra miles on the city side streets.  One waitress told us that she thought they have twelve. Well, I've got news for her, there are many more!! Somebody sure sold this city a bill of goods!! Gary hates them with a passion, especially in the motorhome!!  You can bet that he will write letters to city officials here!!
Other than the Air Museum, we have only been doing Thrift and Antiques Shops.  Fun there for us and some bargains besides.  More gifts!!
Tonight we will be having fish dinner here at the ELKS Lodge where we have been parked since Tuesday.  Gary already has the care hooked up to leave early tomorrow morning to go on north in Wisconsin.
We are hearing of your cooler air and rain in Ohio and yesterday we heard about the 100's in South Carolina at our friends. But we have had decent weather here this week, comfortable.  Seems that the storms might be on east of us.
You all take care and will see Ohio in August.
