Ready to Roll

Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

AT HOME IN HURRICANE UTAH

We made the trip from Pahrump in four hours with only one area of construction.  Beautiful scenery, of course.  Drove over the middle of Las Vegas on freeway and buzzed right through St. George. Hurricane is just a little burg and the lady at the post office told Gary that the winds here, when every place around is calm, is why it is called Hurricane!  Hm-m-m? We are so glad to be set up before the winds began. And Gary even got the windshield washed inside and out!!  My pictures that I took on the road are anything but clear because of all of the bugs, water spots and dust on the windshield. Such a shame.
Mountains that we are leaving behind.
On the road again!!

Las Vegas coming up!

Bellagio, only part of it.
We are going too fast for me to get focused.

Caesar's Palace, or part there of!

Not sure what the needle is called.

Palace Station

Now going through southern Nevada and a corner of Arizona.

Coming into one lane construction area.
Gary calls it white knuckle area!

This is the bridge they are replacing.

We often see mounds of rocks and
think "Glad we are not below when they move.

Amazing color layers!

Glad that we are not going to Salt Lake City today.
Just going a little east of St. George for a month.

Arriving at Willow Wind RV Park

The park is beautiful and nod dusty gravel!!  It will be a welcome change.  We were so tired of the dust, and it will take a month of Sunday's to clean it all out!! This is all grass lots with large concrete pads and trees on the lawns.  A beautiful home!

We are looking forward to a lot of awesome sight seeing!  It is too windy today to do much, so glad that we are settled. The boat is rocking some!

Check back with us in a couple days.
Have a wonderful week.
