Ready to Roll

Our History

My photo
Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

FIRST FRIENDS CHURCH ANNUAL BBQ FOR FRIENDS DISASTER SERVICE

A wonderful fund raiser for Friends Disaster Service, groups of people serving people who have lost homes or had severe damage from a natural disaster, anywhere across the country.  When attending the BBQ you could look at photo albums showing many people giving of their time to work on those projects.  Of course, many friendships are made that last a life time, as well as the opportunity to share God's Word with people in need.
Welcome Friends!!
Nancy and Terri greet guests attending the First Friends Disaster BBQ

The food line begins here, with a half chicken roasted over an open pit.  YUM!

And the line continues to the beverages with desserts on around the corner.
These fine people are part of our SS Class!

While eating and visiting with many friends, we were entertained by several fine musicians.  However, I missed getting a picture of our friend, the pianist, Marian Christensen, who played first.

It sure looks like everyone had fun, judging by the smiles!  And no one went away hungry!  There was even hot dogs for the non-chicken eaters.
I have seemed just as busy since I got back in Ohio, so the Blogs are mighty slow coming out.  Sorry about that!!  And then sometimes we go out and I forget the camera or we are so busy talking that I forget to get it out of the case.  I sure need to get back on track.  Maybe some new travels would help.
Stay tuned for a new Blog again soon.  Hope that you are all having a wonderful summer now that the hundred degree temps seem to be behind us.
