I am at a stand still now on the scrapbooking until I get to Florida where my supplies are being shipped. Gary also works on into the future months as far out as a year for the work camping positions. We just have to hope that our plans don't change too much.
One of our mandatory work days here in the Mesa Regal Resort was the Theme Day celebration of Arizona's 100th anniversary. Bill, Jane, Gary and I had to work on the tear down team after all of the beer was gone and the bands were going home. It was a lot of tables and chairs to take down, but we finished by 9:30 pm. Not too bad!! We did go down there early to get a supper of hamburgs and fries. Not too bad either.
A day of rest!! We found Bill and Jane getting ready to eat dinner. But we had to show off our new camera and to try it out.
Gary enjoys another classic car show!! Of course, he had to practice more with the camera.
And my long anticipated Marie Osmond concert!! Gary got me a second row seat. So I went alone, but really was not alone!! I heard that there were a thousand tickets sold for the two shows.
Now I get to try out the camera some more.
Marie's lights and costumes changed often. My seat, though off to the side of the stage, was not bad.
She did some country, showed videos of family(especially Donnie), and did some opera which amazed me. She has an awesome voice, but could stand more experience in controlling the sound and scenery. But I would go see her again!!
She did a song from the Sound of Music and one from Les Miserable. She also sang some songs that were written for her, which were awesome.
She attributed her costuming to her daughter, who is with her in this picture.
And she sang several songs with her lead guitarist and his son. They were very good.
This week we had some friends, Tim and Judy, join us from Boring, OR. We met them at Sandy Baptist church in Sandy, OR. They are on their way to join up with a group of adults and teens going to Mexico to build a couple houses. So they stopped for a week here in our park and we have so enjoyed their company!! I will have some pictures of them to share in my next Blog. So stay tuned.
Their first evening here we took them along with us to our local Seniors Pot Luck dinner at Trinity Baptist Church where we attend here in Mesa. Our entertainment for the evening was Bobby Freeman, the musical mascot for Arizona's ball teams. He had a huge computer keyboard which boasted over 200 sounds. It was a very entertaining evening.
He had his rings with him that were given to him for some championship games of the Arizona teams. They were huge and very ornate. We got to look them over!!
