Our History

Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

SPEND TIME WITH THE WYATT'S in OREGON

We are going to have to take another walk in the park, as there is an Allegro Rally here this week and 166 BIG Allegro motor homes coming in. We have one parked right beside us, but it is not much different from ours. We did not think that it was a big enough site to fit much on it, but guess that we were wrong. So our friends coming in July might fit there after all!! We will see what they want. We got tired of the mundane salads that we usually have, so got a little fancy last week! Can you guess what all is in it? I will tell you that I missed the cheese, but couldn't tell it!!
A week after we got here, we took a long drive beside the Columbia River. It was a very misty rainy drive Sunday after church, but beautiful non the less. We just promised ourselves to do it again on a sunny day!
Our drive did eventually get into some sun. We could see it coming up ahead!
Following that rainy day, we had another week of rain, except for Tuesday! We never noticed getting so tired of rain before!!
Mt. Hood in the distance.
Gorgeous sky!!
Then along came Memorial Day and I sat at the computer in our front window and watched the parades go by!!
The following week the sound on the analog TV in the bedroom (Gary's Art room) bit the dust. So Gary dug into another project. He installed a flat screen in the door where the old set had been and that left a large cabinet empty behind it!! He put in a shelf and wal-la - - some new storage!! I'll bet I can fill it fast!!
We keep thinking that we have everything just the way we want it and then another project comes along.
This past Sunday we decided to have dinner outside with neighbors in a motor home across the road from us. Had hamburgs and all of the stuff to go with it. Decided that we needed more dry weather to do it again and maybe include the whole neighborhood, ah-h-h maybe most of it!
Anyway, we had a wonderful visit and also had a load of wood delivered and split while we were sitting around.
Bob and Gayle we will have to do it again!!
Yes, Gary you will have to stack it!!
After Gary finished our pile, some other neighbors delivered another load in the neighborhood via a wagon. But it looked like the hard way to me!! We got a good laugh out of it and so did they.
This is one of the first Allegro motor homes coming in to our Park for their rally this week - - -
We will walk around and take pictures. They also have a display of new models to look at. So Gary and I want to get into some of those. Thanks goodness we never find anything that we can't do without. But it is fun to look!! Take care and check back with us in a couple days and I will have pictures ready for another Blog from our whale watching trip off the Oregon coast.
Hope that you all are having good weather!!
