Still at Salem, whether we want to be or not. The doctor's seem to have a way of doing this to us each year. But then thank goodness for good doctors!! I am still awaiting scheduling for another testing procedure. But hoping that we can head south and west before freezing weather!!
Following Labor Day Weekend we included a morning out for breakfast with long time friend, Marian, and Gary's sister, Janet. That is always a good visit!! We need to do it again before we head southwest!! And with the low 40's at night, it will not be soon enough!! The joints are sure talking!! Squeak, squeak!!
Labor Day also ended with our son and his wife and our grandson enjoying some much deserved time in the pool here at the camp ground. So sad that it was the last day for the pool to be open, before they got here to enjoy it!!
The day ended when our campground neighbor went by in their new toy!!
I do believe the Mustang interest runs in the family, as the son-in-law drives two different ones down here from time to time to visit.
This past week another retired co-worker of Gary's stopped by with his wife for a visit. Gary and Judy, we sure enjoyed your visit and also the beautiful tomatoes. Yum-m-m! Someone has a green thumb!
Last week I spent Friday with the girls scrapbooking at the Retirement Center. I didn't get all of my work finished for the day, but I made a good stab at it.
Now I just need to get organized here at home. Shame on me for wasting time, but the books to read just keep calling my name!!
I also went out to eat with my friends Louise and Ruthie.
It is just wonderful to see Ruthie as an answer to many, many prayers. She has done such a come back and is out under her own power following a long illness!! PTL !!
Speaking of Praise The Lord, we went to Baptist Bible Church in Cortland OH to hear the Echo Gospel Quartet sing. So inspiring!!
One of the quartet played the piano also. They were very good!!
This past week we went to lunch at the home of friends, Bill and Jane. They have expressed interest in beginning the life style that we live, and we keep sharing ideas. They have already made many trips over the years, so Bill and Gary spent time going over maps for our trip west. It was a great visit as well as time well spent looking at their hobbies of quilting and wood working. I am sure you will get all of the details for you future worked out real soon!
And last evening we spent time with family for dinner at Concord Presbyterian Church north of town for spaghetti. I got to see friends from many, many years ago as well as some whom we have kept contact with over the years. We were surprised to find that the pastor there was a woman that Gary went to school with at Allegheny Wesleyan south of Salem. We called it our all birthday dinner, which we try to do every time that we are home. Pastor, Joyce, even got a group of people to sing Happy Birthday for us! Since it was not aimed at just one of our group, she got away with it!! Needless to say we enjoyed ourselves, but missed having our grandson with us. He had more important fish to fry!! You know as we see him getting older, we see this more and more. But we are glad to see him enjoy life!
Take care and see you again soon!
