Ready to Roll

Our History

Ohio, United States
Having recently retired we are fulfilling our long time dream. We began our camping life with a tent in 1969 adjusting as each of our three sons arrived over the years and gradually progressed to a 32' Class A in 2007. Even after our sons became too busy with their own interests, we continued dreaming over the years. The Louisville, KY 2003 Great North American RV Rally and the book "Movin' On" convinced us that a motorhome after retirement was really for us! In 2007 we sold our home and disposed of most of our belongings and awaited the wife's retirement on February 1, 2008. We were out in our first motorhome ten times in our first summer in 2007, with our grandson joining us eight of those ten times. Since he must stay behind with his mom and dad to continue school, we told him he can join us on vacations (by car or plane) anywhere we are as we travel the US. Imagine the history lessons he could acquire! However, Mom and Dad don't look at it that way, especially the flying. Fortunately we don't miss work one bit!! We just miss the friends there. We have many hobbies to keep us busy when we decide to sit still for a day. Hope to see you on the road.

JANUARY, THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE ORIGINATION OF THIS RESORT !!

This week we have been out to eat several times!!  We will need to put the brakes on!!!
Tuesday, January 19th, eight of the SKPettes (ladies) from the Resort here went in to Wauchula FL to eat at Giovanni's Italian Restaurant.  It was a delicious lunch and great visit!!
Julie, Janet, Barbara, Audrey,
Lillian,  Jewell, and Beverly
This week and next they have an assortment of activities planned here in the resort also.  One was a yard sale of donated items today.  Gary went over early to help set out the stuff. Then he called me to go over early to make a deal on an apartment size fridge.  Only thing we must do is sand off a little rust and paint it.  But since it is for our shed, I'm not real worried about how soon I will get it done.  But I sure will appreciate more fridge and freezer space since all we have in the motorhome is an apartment size also.  Oh, such a hard life!!
Yesterday, the 20th we went to Port Charlotte to get an oil change on the Honda.  So while there we stopped at a few stores.  I got a few good deals in a Thrift Shop and would have stopped at more but Gary had a head ache, so we headed back home.

A week ago they got to trimming the palm trees on our lot.  It looks so much better.  Thank goodness Gary thought to put tables over the new flowers that I had planted.  So we avoided the branches falling on the new new plantings.  You wouldn't realize that those branches are as heavy as they are!!  We'll have to remember next year to do the same again.
They have also had a campfire the evening that the stars were so visible.  It was a good time of visiting also. And tomorrow there will be a Grill out.  As I said, we are probably eating way too much.
Not much else to share, so this will be a short Blog.  I do think that the Covid sure has an effect on everyone.  We sure feel it here!! So boring!!!
You all take care and stay healthy!!
